Hrísmói

Hrísmói apartments is a 10 story apartment building placed at the prominent corner of a new town center development for Garðabær, one of Reykjavík suburbs. Each floor has 4 apartments that are all designed to be flexible to be able to accommodate the needs of each occupant. Conceptual ambition of the project was to create a formally clear and elegant shape that would be perceived as an object, and not architecture. The detachment of the mass from the ground to give it a sensation of lightness and fluidity; the irregular puncturing of the skin was blur the legibility of floor levels and scale; and the blurred reflection of anodized aluminum skin would blur the building into the sky.
